Author Journal – 31 Days of Writing: Day 7

It’s hot here in NC. The temp has been in the upper 90’s and hundreds the last couple weeks and I hate it! I just finished mopping my house and I’m a sweaty mess sitting underneath my fan.

I know, lovely.

Give me fall. I want to curl up on the couch with the windows open, wear a sweater, and look out at colorful leaves! I want to sip hot matcha from a mug and curse my seasonal allergies. I want cold nights and mild days.

I just need to get through summer.

The next book I’m working on takes place largely during the winter. Maybe I can pretend it’s cold out?!

I will admit I’m enjoying a glass of watermelon juice from an enormous watermelon I bought at our local farm. I can’t argue with how delicious that is.

But I still want fall.

In publishing news: I started an ad campaign on Amazon today. Fingers crossed I at least learn what I did right and what I did wrong. I chose the “sponsored ads” option rather than the “Kindle lock screen” option. Only because forums for KDP all agreed that was the better option. I guess we’ll see.

I have a meager budget. But I’m hopeful. If anyone reading this has experience with Amazon ads and can tell me what worked for them, I’d appreciate it!

That’s all for now. We had company over the weekend and my head was very upset because of the weather. It’s doing better now and company is gone, so my goal is to be a little more consistent posting here. But overall, I’m pretty happy with what I’ve done so far. I’ve written more on here in the last couple of weeks than I have in a long time!
