It’s been a second. Not on purpose. Just me getting distracted by publishing and editing deadlines and forgetting this space exists to write whatever I feel like writing!
A Curse of Feathers & Fools is out, and I’m so proud of that book! It was a joy to write in a season of difficulty and I’m thankful for how it helped me. I’m also thankful for the joy I see it bringing to others.
If you enjoy stories where the princess saves herself and everyone else, this one might be for you! If you’re looking for a fun read for a teenager in your life who loves fantasy, this might be for them! If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

Where was I?
Oh, what I like to do when I’m not writing. As much as I wish I could be like Brandon Sanderson and write for hours on end, I don’t think I received that gifted gene.
Instead, I spend my days sewing, canning, knitting, journaling, or anything else creative I can think of (or that I’m in the mood for). Reading, of course, is a constant as well.
I tried my hand at gardening this summer with mixed levels of success. I’m pretty good at growing herbs. Garlic turned out okay. Green bean harvest wasn’t horrible. Basically, anything low-labor turns out great for me and everything else dies or doesn’t bear fruit!
Right now I’m spending free evenings quilting. Quilting is like putting together a puzzle made out of fabric. My current quilt is from free sample blocks that will all go together at the end to create a king-sized quilt for my bed. Quilting calms my brain, which I believe helps me write, be kind to others, and sleep.
Canning has been easier than I expected. It’s a lot of work, but the work is always worth it and the recipes have all been great so far!
Journaling and Knitting will make a come-back at some point soon. Knitting is one of my favorite winter activities. I like to knit shawls for chilly days at home.
Well, there’s my interesting tidbit for now. If you have any free resources for any of the above hobbies, I’d love to hear about them!
Until next time,
Ellen
